coloured and ready for adding to my portfolio! (we have a portfolio review this wednesday for juniors and seniors in illustration/animation and i'm really nervous and excited and everything) anyway, that's another thing crossed off my weekend to-do list muahaha >:]

i received the suggestion to add graffiti texture and asian text on the signs..do you think it needs it? i tried writing some japanese on a couple signs, but i was finding it hard to make it not overly noticeable and to just blend into the world.. i dunno.. comments, insight, etc?

ooo goody! I was hoping this was gonna get all texturedy and neat. Nice job! I'd be inclined to try out the text and graffiti...if it worked it would add a whole new layer to this.

since the rest is so detailed, it looks like something is missing if the signs don't have any writing- maybe you could just do parts of words, not totally visible?

So good! The lighting came out great, I'm loving the cool to warm. It'd be neat to give the graffiti/text a shot (I keep looking at the blank signs expecting to see something), but you'd have to give it a huge going over. Since it's so pristine right now, you might have to do a lot of "roughing up" (cracks, peeling paint) to make additions look natural. So I guess it depends on how tired you are of staring at this one!

its looking really good as it is. I guess it kinda depends on what message you want to put out through this piece. right how without asian signs and texts and all it feels more surrealistic and ambiguous. I think if you add the texts and all it'll give a certain more defined look to it.
