(somewhat) finished version of this sketch: [link] graphite on bristol, 20"x20" 25-30 hours? i think i'm going to go back in and put pattern detailing on the kites, and also make up for the slack job on the view out the bottom window. hehe
lesson learned: sharpening edges is extremely effective using a 0.5mm HB mechanical pencil. it is also a pain in the everything
Wow truly impressive. But why an old man in a wheel chair?? Seems kind of ironic, unless Katie specializes in kites made especially for people who are handicap. Or maybe he just found out she doesn't, which is why he looks kind of sad.
I love the view of this piece, it's very unique. The bird watching with us adds an interesting perspective. I also like that you included the shadow of a kite hanging to the left, so we know the whole place is filled floor to ceiling with kites.
haha umm.. i don't know why the wheelchair man is there. it was one of the requirements of the assignment: country store with 10 people of different ages/sizes/ethnicities and one of them is you, one is in a wheelchair, all are interacting.. animals, lighting, windows (ie. 2+ light sources), outside view w/ bikes/cars/wtv, etc.
